Without getting into the boring details; events have conspired/transpired
Nationwide Lockdown
my parents getting older (😟 and wow am i a baby b**** when it comes to that subject; my method is that i believe they are immortal until they are not. i know this is not good. i am working on it!)
my family needing someone to take on this project…so i’m taking it on…
my mission: “run down home on a wooded 2 acre lot becoming a ‘functioning quaint homestead’” is on hold!😢 who knows how long. buts its okay! 💪
The New Current…Covid House Project…
We all love Home Reno, Projects, and DIY still, yeah? So, I hope this suburban home endeavor can still bring us Plenty O’ Good Stuff!
Nothing I was expecting. But adapting is certainly a huge tenant of DIY, self-reliant values!
No more chickadees.🐔😭
No more cutting down trees and then using that lumber for infinite projects ☹
Crap, i just felt my mood shift—thinking about it in detail does make me feel sad and regretful—so nevermind!
Most Houses in Charleston, SC are old, so there is no shortage of projects and opportunities to improve.
I thought I’d just go ahead and give you the stats on the house and the MLS photos here and now.
New Home New Project
Here She Is! This IS a misleading curb appeal photo (hahaha nice touch realtors) But you can kind of tell the photo was run through a filter and stretched to look larger. That Said! Still a decent spot!

Built 1964.
2,333 sq ft.
this is where A LOT of valuable home reno episodes are going to come from.
the garage was converted improperly
a half bath was added horribly (score 3 out of 10)
the washer and dryer hook ups and vents were sealed up, no new one was installed

EXTERIOR
You can see, normally the fence would flank both ends of the house; but here the driveway has been extended into the backyard (making it tiny—aka the worst) and a detached aluminum garage has been installed.
Some of you property owners, gardeners, landscapers, out there might notice that small trees/large bushes shaped into trees have been planted Right Up On the house’s foundation—aren’t they going to have to go?
**These photos are older. The darker richer hued photos are a little newer. The property, as a whole, does not look so polished and manicured as it does in those photos (especially now that those shrubs have really grown).
any input on the oaktree, and anything about it, would be so so much appreciated. though in sc, i’ve actually never lived with a real live “live oak” before. does that 3ft mound of straw and who-knows-what seem suspicious? 😆😁
